Conditions We Help in Freehold NJ

We treat the following conditions:

Sports Medicine

Exercise is vital to your overall health — especially cardiovascular health, mental health, and prevention management of diseases such as diabetes and obesity. Adding exercise to your daily routine is recommended, but keep in mind that many exercise-related and athletic activities greatly impact the feet. For example, high-impact sports such as basketball or tennis transmit the force of 8x your body weight to your feet. To prevent injury, you need to consider the following: proper conditioning such as warm-up/stretching and physician clearance, proper training such as cross-training and graduated levels of activity, proper foot gear evaluation, appropriate and sports-specific shoes, good socks, and orthotics or insoles. Dr. Lemberger can help you determine your best options.

If sports-related foot and ankle injuries do occur, Dr. Lemberger treats the following conditions: skin problems (such as athlete’s foot, warts or blisters), soft tissue injuries (sprains, nail injury, tendonitis, plantar fasciitis, etc.), and bone injuries (stress and traumatic fractures).

Pediatric

Your child’s feet must last a lifetime so it’s critical to treat problems early and schedule annual visits to the podiatrist in order to identify and allow treatment of any potential conditions. Dr. Lemberger has extensive expertise working with children and young adults with the following conditions: nail and skin problems (warts, bunions, etc.), conditions affecting growth centers, and common injuries such as fractures, dislocations and sprains, and a variety of other issues including bunions, hammertoes, ganglions, cysts, etc.

Identifying problems and starting treatment early on can head off problems down the road. Dr. Lemberger’s pediatric patients benefit not only from his expertise but also from his kind and compassionate demeanor.

Bunion Surgery

Dr. Lemberger uses the most modern techniques to treat bunions. Each bunion is placed into a category of mild, moderate or severe, which will dictate the procedure necessary to repair your bunion with the best outcome.

Joint Replacement Surgery

The big toe joint can become painful and arthritic just as the hips and knees. Recently great advances have been made in the big toe joint replacement and Dr. Lemberger has received special training allowing him to both evaluate patients’ joints and perform replacement surgery when a patient fits the proper criteria.

Hammer Toe Surgery

Patients with painful hammertoes often require surgical correction to realign the toes and provide pain relief. Dr. Lemberger uses many surgical techniques, based on the severity of the toe. He performs simple procedures such as tendon releases and very complex procedures such as tendon fusions all depending on the patient’s needs.

Radio Frequency Ablation

Radio frequency ablation is a minimally invasive technique for the treatment of both plantar fasciitis and Morton’s neuroma. The advantage to this technique is that there is no surgical in-patient stay and patients are able to return to activity only a few days after the procedure has been performed.
